Due to the renovations being done to the Demarest Senior Recreation Center located at the Railroad Station, all activities will be held at the Boro Hall until further notice.
We welcome all residents and neighbors ages 55 and above. Monthly meetings are held on the 3rd Friday of the month. All activities except Arts and Crafts will be held daily except Tuesday from 1-4:30pm.
A monthly trip to Atlantic City is held on the third Tuesday of each month at a cost of $25.00. The trip departs from the United Methodist Church. On August 14, trip to Woodloch Pines for full course lunch, scenic boat ride, musical review and browsing in the Country Store. The cost for the trip is $40; call Grace Walsh @ 201-768-1783 for your reservation.
Stained Glass Class
All Senior Citizens are welcome to join our Stained Glass Class on Fridays at 9:30 a.m. to discover the talent you did not know you had. All classes are directed by a super instructor, Mr. Luhrsen, and the materials are free. Surprise yourself!! Many thanks to Mr. Luhrsen, who does our monthly bulletin, for his wonderful News and Art Work.
Bingo
All Senior Citizens are welcome to play bingo every Thursdays @ 1pm at Borough Hall.
What's New?
The Demarest Nature Center's Annual Breakfast in the Woods will be held Saturday, June 14, from 9-11am near the Wakelee Field tennis courts. The trustees and volunteers on the Nature Center will be cooking a great breakfast at no charge. There will be live music and a live animal show following the breakfast. The photo contest winners will be announced. Please bring your own folding chairs. Rain date: June 15.
American Cancer Society's Relay For Life To Be Held In Old Tappan. The Relay For Life of Northern Valley, previously held at Northern Valley Regional High School, Demarest for the past three years has merged with this Relay to form a broader community event. Relay For Life of Old Tappan and Pascack Valley will begin 5:00 p.m. on June 13th and will end 7:00 a.m. June 14th. Sign up and learn more at www.events.cancer.org/ RFLoldtappanNJ.
